My Bio: I have always been intrigued by people, having grown up in an inn on the Mountain Road in Stowe, Vermont; it became a natural interest getting to know guests. Photography has been an evolution for me influenced initially by adventures and wanderlust. In my early twenties I traveled throughout Europe and to Turkey and Morocco and then for a year and a half traveled alone to Hong Kong, Thailand, Myanmar (Burma), Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, India, Kenya, Egypt, Turkey, and Greece. The people, sights, sounds, smells and experiences were fascinating and extraordinary. Having limited film to shoot with slowed me down to wait for quality of light and ideal opportunities to photograph and connect with people. I was captivated and developed a documentary or photojournalistic style. Years later, newly inspired as a mother and a desire to return to college for photography, I learned far more than I expected to. I have moved from the traditional darkroom of chemicals to the digital darkroom and love it. Experimenting with digital media and creating composite, layered, artistic images with Photoshop, like the boy in the bubble or floating into the sky with balloons, has been a fun discovery. Many of my landscapes are high dynamic range photos using three different exposures to merge highlights for a more luminous image.

In 2013 I graduated summa cum laude with a fine art degree and business minor from Johnson State College. Classes in art history, ceramics, digital media, photography, printmaking, jewelry and metal-smithing, and painting have all influenced how I see and think more creatively. In 2013 fourteen of my prints were purchased for the permanent collection at Johnson State College.

Currently I have photographs printed on aluminum, my favorite medium, displayed at the top of Mt. Mansfield in the Octagon in Stowe, Vermont. Light reflects on the fine lines in the metal to illuminate the infused ink giving images and colors more depth than traditional paper prints. I would love to hear from you, what your thoughts are about my work, and am happy to discuss exciting locations and details to photograph you and your family.
